Hi Conny! How.. |
..are you doing? I´m glad to hear that many Hanoi fans said the recent gig was the best one ever... It was shame that I wasn´t there.Hope I have some other chances to enjoy your gigs! By the way, I´ve got your single cd "Star". I like that cover very much though your face can´t be seen.
You are shining with your guitar and I really feel you a star from that pic! Good design. Oh, one more thing... Recently I´ve heard something about dreadlocks. You make your hair dreadlocks and when you want to change you style sometime later from dreadlocks, you have to cut them all once... Is that true?? When I was told this from my friend, I imagined you totally bold!! (Excuse me!) Now I hope this story is not true..!
Thanks for reading and enjoy weekend!!!
Shoko ???????
Hi Shoko! |
The last Hanoi Rocks gigs HAVE been good! The band is very focused. Glad you like "Star".
Reg. dreads; Well, we´re gonna have to see when i cut them.. ;-) Have a good weekend! Conny

Hej! |
Tack för komplimangen. Nä, det låter inte så bra först... Får kämpa lite oftast. Dubbar gör jag där jag tycker det passar men det tar ju också bort nerven.. D-stämning på mörka E-strängen bara. Ps. Gamla Status var grymma! C.

Hi Conny !! I wasn´t going.. |
..to write to you so often because you may be very busy to read all emails from your fans..But I couldn´t stop writing.Because "Been There Done What? Live" was released today in Japan!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I had it already but I went to Tower Record to get it. I didn´t catch all of the lyrics so far so the sleeve helps me a lot. I am happy about that. It´s so groovy! I love it!! I love your music!!! It definitely makes my life happy!! Thank you very much for creating wonderful music,Conny! I wish you could have a release party here in Japan.... Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day! Shoko ?????

Hi Conny May I ask what kind of method you have used to your rastas as they look so cool, well done? I would like to get rastalook to myself also. I do have very long black hairs so I don´t need extrahairs.Have you used some wax? My kids says holy shit I have lost my mind..he hee.Am I?

Marianne
Hi.. |
I suppose you mean my "dreads".. What method? Don´t use a comb! :-) I have naturally curly and dry hair so it help for them to tighten up naturally. Have used wax on occasions but I can´t be bothered with it nowadays.. Like the smell of the wax though. Cool runnings.. Conny

Keep up the good work! Peace (www.theitch.se)
Hej! |
Tack för komplimangerna. Om SIgevall VILLE spela så kanske det skulle finnas en chans men han är inte intresserad av trummorna vad jag vet.. Franco vet jag inte riktigt vad han gör nuförtiden.
Peace tebaks. C.
Hey Conny, Let´s take.. |

Hi Conny ! |
Are you enjoying summer in Scandinavia? I hope so. Is it true that you´ll come to Japan in October with Ginger?? I´ll definitely come and see you and enjoy rock´n´ roll circus! And does it mean Hanoi Rocks won´t play in Japan this autumn? But it´s nice for us to see you here in Japan!! Thanks and take care. Shoko???
Hi Shoko! |
Yes, I´ll come to Japan with "Ginger and the Sonic Circus" the first week of October. No Hanoi dates booked in Japan as we speak. Ai to heiwa, Conny
Hej,Conny! |
I got the information that GINGER comes to Japan in October. I thought that he comes to Japan for solo live. But it was mistake. GINGER & SONIC CIRCUS comes to Japan !! Do you come to Japan together? I can enjoy your guitar-play in Japan !! I can hardly wait !! //Eriko
Hi Eriko.. |
Yes, I´m coming! First week of October... C-ya, Conny

Hej! |
I was in Björbo in Dalecarlia on the 29th of April and listened to Janne Åström and Medborgarna.
I bought the ticket because I am a big fan of Janne but after that evening I am a bigger fan of You. Thank You for that experience!! It was wonderful to hear so much good music out there far away in the countryside. Thanks! Maggan
Hey! |
Thanks for the compliment! We had a good time jamming there. Peace, Conny
How are you? |
It´s a good news in spring! It´s awesome to hear that you´re working for your new solo album ! I really love the sound in your solo works so I can´t wait! Each of them has quite different colour every time so I´m looking forward to listening to it. Around when is it supposed to released ?? And are you going to do some solo gigs? I´m not usually good at waiting for something for a long time but your work is different. I can wait for your album with joy! Thanks for reading and GOOD LUCK!!! Shoko
Hi Shoko! |
I´m working on the stuff during the summer inbetween the gigs, so it should be ready for release sumtime at the end of this year. Keep the faith... Conny
Funk it up conny! |
When did you record shake that rattle???, its one of the grooviest song i ever heard. sounds like it could be between groovus and freewheelin. hmm one more question, i bought a marshall jmp1959 100watt,(1972) the rumor says it belonged to you or franco when electric boys where hotter than hell! do you remeber if you or your funky friend use that kind of marshallhead and then sold it , a friend of mine bought it in stockholm 92, it would be fun if its true, I play in a band named kin karpet(www.myspace.com/kinkarpet ) and our biggest influens is you! keep on rockin LORD CONNY ( we use to play some electric boys covers too, send me a mail if you like to hear a song! /ritchie rockstone
Hi! |
"Shake that rattle" was demoed before "Groovus Maximus". It was basically "Lips and hips" backwards, cuz we had to rehearse it like that for a sequence in the video. We thought the riff sounded good that way, so I wrote a new song around it. Reg the Marshall I can´t remember.. it might be true. Please do send me an mp3 of any EB cover you´ve played. Would love to hear it! Peace, C.
Hello Conny, |
I´m a big fan from Franklin, MA USA! Just wondering if anything was ever released on cd from some of your other bands like (Road Rats, Rolene or Groovies INC). I´ve never heard these so, I was just curious. Anyway, Keep Rockin´!
Thanks,
Rick Jones
Hi Rick, |
That stuff will come out later this year on a compilation I´m making called " Harvest of earthly delights". The " Groovies Inc" stuff will be on my next solo album, coming out later this year too. Peace, Conny
Hi Conny, I would like.. |
..to know who has been your biggest influence as far as your style of guitar playing? You are one of few that I have seen that play through the window to your soul.
Thanks
Karen T.
Hi Karen T, |
Thanks for the sweet comment. It´s a question that´s hard to answer cuz there is so many good players out there, or used to be anyway. I´d say Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck and early Ritchie Blackmore for electric stuff, and Django Reinhardt for acoustic..
// Conny
Hi Conny! It´s really... |
.. a great opportunity for you to play at the banquet of the Polar Music Prize. And you´ll play in front of Red Zeppelin and the Royal family of Sweden! That´s so cool. It´s a pity that I won´t be able to see that honourable stage.. But in Japan I cross my fingers so please enjoy!!!
Take care. Shoko
Dear Shoko.. |
I had a great time! My idea was to hopefully entertain the Led Zeppelin guys a bit, so when Jimmy Page told me he really liked the way we approached the Zeppelin stuff, it was a great moment for me, I was grinning like a kid. A true gentleman he was, all respect to him. Blessed, C.
Hey Conny! Big.. |
..fan of yours. I love all three Electric Boys albums you have put out. I really think it´s a shame you guys didn´t made it big time. Your grooves in the music makes the music so much more interesting then most of the other bands from the 80s/early 90´s. It´s nice that you had your own sound, although all three records sounds a little different, they all sounds Electric Boys. EB were/is probably the best band Sweden ever had.
Anyway, I have a question for you. I´ve always liked your outfits, I think you´re dressing really cool and with personallity. At which stores to do you usually buy your clothes? I live near Stockholm so I would be really glad if you could mention any clothingstores in the area that you like. I´m not gonna rip off your style or anything, just want to find some nice, more original clothes than H&M :) Peace & Love, /Rickard
Hey Rickard.. |
Thank you! I stuff second hand.. There´s a good leather store w second hand stuff on Odengatan, by Vasaparken. Also, there´s "UFF". Then of course I have stuff made.. I buy fabrics I like and have a woman called Katarina in Stockholm that makes the stuff for me. The rest is stuff I´ve been given.. Recently I got jeans from "True Religion" which are cool. Stay groovy, Conny
Dear Conny, |
Do you get to go to any gigs or festivals as a fan anymore and get to be in with the crowd and be anonymous? Or has fame made this an impossibility and do you now always get people talking to you? Also have you ever been to any festivals like Glastonbury or the Green Man Festival as an audience member?" Carrie
Hi Carrie! |
I usually don´t go to festvals as "a fan" (although it has happened), but I do like to watch other bands at the festivals that we´re playing at. The simple reason is like U said, it´s a bit of a hassle. If you´re playing yourself, U´ve got the backstage area and the VIP places which is ok. Been to Glastonbury with Ginger. In fact, the first time we got together to write, they put us in a small rehearsal place expecting magic to happen.15 minutes later, we looked at each other and went -"fuck this, let´s go to the pub" in sync. We already knew that we could write so we went to Glastonbury to hang instead. Ciao, C.
Hey Conny! |
Hows it going? We are so unbelievably excited about you and the other Hanoi guys coming to our home little city of Norwich. We saw you guys at the Electric Ballroom Feb 05 and we had a blast, it was pure dinamite BANG! What are the chances of being able to say hi to you in person? it would be simple smashing to meet you chaps.
Please be assured we are neither silly groupies nor insane, just two enormous fans of your music!
Take care and be happy, this life is too goddam short for upside down smiles! Love Charlotte and Karen :)
Hi gurrls.. |
Glad U dug The El Ballroom gig. Chances of meeting me/us? We usually like to chill out for a while after a gig and if the mood calls for it we might stay for a few drinks. Whatever happens, happens y´know? It´s all cool. Conny
Hi Conny, I would... |
.. like to know who has been your biggest influence as far as your style of guitar playing? You are one of few that I have seen that play through the window to your soul.
Thanks
Karen T.
Hi Karen, |
Through the window to ma soul? Wow, that´s a great compliment. My heroes? I´d say in the early days; Ritchie Blackmore, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck, Francis Rossi. I just love good playing so after that it´s been lots of different ones; Alvin Lee, Santana, the 3 blues "Kings", Roy Buchanan, Tommy Bolin, Danny Gatton etc etc. The list is endless... Acoustic style, Django Reinhard is above everyone else.
Hej Conny! |
How are you? Hope everything fine with you.
I´ve got "Rollin´ with Rolene". Unfortunately I haven´t listened to it yet as I haven´t got record player. You and AC are really young on the cover! And I am really impressed both of you had been together for such a long time! I wonder you had any big fight so far? Sorry for a silly question. Take care! Shoko
Hi Shoko! |
I´m fine, thank you. Yes we were young teeny-boppin´ boys with a taste for teeny-boppin´ grrrrls. A.C´s like the brother I never had, which means that we don´t bullshit each other, and also that we´ve had some good fights.
// Conny
Hey... |
...whatŽs up in Hanoi camp? Heard the Italian and Austrian gigs are postponed? Hope everythings ok in there. Any news about gigs in US? Anyways, keep on RLF... Cheers // Ob

Hi! |

Michael´s got an ear infection so unfortunately we had to cancel some gigs. The States is of course part of our plan. we´ll let you know when we have something to tell. Cheers, C.
Hi Conny!! Good luck.. |
...and enjoy "Ginger and the Sonic Circus" UK tour. It sounds like fun rock´n´ roll party! //Shoko

Thank you. Yeah, one doesn´t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out :-) //Conny

Conny & The Sonic Circus |
Glad to see you coming along on the Ginger tour in UK! Will you be singing? Any SG5 tunes? Rock on! Emily
Hi Emily! |
Yes, I´m looking forward to the gigs w Ginger & co. Singing? You mean lead or? Don´t know... Backing vocals anyway. I hope we´ll be doing "Sonic Shake". Best, Conny
Tonight I saw... |
..the documetary about Micke "Svullo" Dubois on TV and was surprised you wasn´t in it. How come?
// Lotta
Hi Lotta, |
You tell me. it makes me wonder how serious that documentary is. Peace, C.
I was just... |
...wondering if you could send me a complete list of music videos you´ve made with the electric boys? Will there be a dvd in the near future? I will appreciate any info you can give me. Thanks for your time.
Hi stranger.. |
We did quite a few. Basically all the singles. I don´t know about a DVD... Who knows, maybe in the future? Sorry, that´s all I can say.
Best, Conny
Hiya Conny, |
Well, how about "Paradiso" and/or "Melkweg", 2 superhot podia in Amsterdam! If people find out this hot guy from the Whiskey Add is coming down with a Cool Band, your gig(s) will be sold out! You must at least have heard of "Paradiso" where many bands started their European "careers".... Check out www.paradiso.nl (in Dutch, sowwy) and www.melkweg.nl and for contacts check out : http://paradiso.melkweg.nl/indexen.php (or at least have your manager (ya have one?) check it out, paleaaaazze?! Are ya gonna come my way? Diana from Da Netherlands
Hi Diana, |
I´d love to go back to Amsterdam. I´ve played the Paradiso with Electric Boys, together with Blue Cheer. Don´t remember much about the gig, but I do remember the smell. Ciao, C.
Thanks for the show.. |
..at Nosturi, 17/2-06! You had a great energy and made the show complete! It would be amazing if you and A.C played a Electric Boys song in the middle of a Hanoi Rocks gig. We want to here your beautiful voice live! And that would give Mike some time to change clothes and us fans a happy suprise! How about that?
Rock on! /Bloody Mary, Uppsala
Hi! |
Thanks. Yeah, Nosturi was fun! Reg Electric Boys; I´m glad you wanna hear it, but it would seem quite outta place if we´d do that at a Hanoi gig don´t you think? I´d much rather sing some lead parts on the next Hanoi album. There will be a chance to catch me live later on as well, doing my own thing. Peace, Conny
Hi Conny, Thanks for... |
..your reply! I´ve got ´Rollin´ with Rolene´ on the internet auction as same as I got ´Titanic Truth´. I can find some rare items on it so recently I often check that auction. Before I saw somebody put ´ Conny´s guitar pick ´ on it. But I wasn´t quite sure if it was really yours or not. The seller said he had got it from your guitar staff. It was green and your autograph was printed on the back. Is it yours ?? I hope this Rolene LP should be a real one!! But I now don´t have record player anymore... that´s another problem... :(
Have a good day! Shoko
Hi Shoko, |
Yes, that sounds like one of my picks. Reg the Rolene album; don´t expect the same stuff as I´ve been doing later. It´s got a few ok songs on it, but it´s not funky or heavy like Electric Boys, more pop/ rock oriented. // Conny
Hi! |
I thought I saw you at the irish film festival this weekend. Was that you?? Keaton
Hi Keaton, |
You´ve got good eyes. I was there, to attend the festival and to DJ at the after party. Arrived in the middle of the riots..Totally crazy man! Dublin was nice though. Stayed at The Clarence (U2´s hotel) in a nice part of town and really enjoyed the vibe // Conny
Conny, Hello...I met.. |
..you in Tokyo last year on the street in Shinjuku with AC. I came to Japan from Los Angeles to see the Hanoi shows in Tokyo. You both were very kind enough to stop and talk a bit and take this picture with me. My question is do you think you will be touring Japan again this year, perhaps in May or June? If so I plan on making the trip again since last year was so unforgetable! Hopefully you will play in the States this year as well. Take Care, Tim Sheridan
Hi Tim! |
I remember meeting you. Keep checking out this section and the Hanoi site for possible gigs in Japan. Yes, hopefully the states this year. ps. Thanks for the picture. // Conny
Hej Conny ! Hur star det till? |
Hanoi´s tour schedule was announced. Japan in not includes in it yet... If Japan tour comes true, will it be around Autumn after European tour??
I hope I´ll visit Scandinavia to see your exciting gigs!! Take care! Shoko
Hi Shoko! |
I don´t know about Japan right now. As soon as something is confirmed, we´ll put it on the Hanoi site and here, at my site. C-ya later, Conny
tjenare, måste bara säga... |
Christian
Christian! |
To you and everybody else: Please write in english! Most people that comes here speaks english, and would like to take part of your thoughts, I´m sure. Regarding your mail; well, what can I say? I think Hanoi Rocks is a great rock´n´roll band and it´s great playing with Andy, Michael, Lacu and A.C. However, I WILL do some solo stuff later as well. I´ve got songs for a great solo album, that I want to get out at some point, so keep the faith. Until then, check out Hanoi Rocks live! C.
Är det inte dags... |
Bra spelning i Karlstad!!! Shake that rattle!!!!
Hällsar två funky Freaksters.

Hej! |
Tack för mailet. Det kommer mera Conny och funkiga grooves, jag är bara lite trög i starten ;-)
// Conny

Conny! Loved your.. |
.. stuff ever since the Electric Boys - anyway, to cut a long story short, I´ve recently managed to spread the word to my friends family, whose
14 year old son is now really taken with your stuff - he plays guitar and at his bands last gig even dressed like you! Anyhow - any chance of a signed photo for him? Also - is there a website selling Conny Bloom merchandise, such as
T-shirts? Looking forward to the next gig - are you going to be turning up at any of the Ginger gigs in March? Cheers and all the best, Gary
Hi Gary, |
Glad you dig ma stuff. The 14 y o musta looked really groovy ;-) I´m afraid I don´t have any signed photos to give away, maybe in the future. For merch: Check the NEWS section date 2005-11-16. There´s just one t-shirt for sale at the moment but there will be more stuff later. It wuz fun to play with Ginger again and I´ve been invited. Who knows what time permits? Best, Conny
Hi conny! I have.. |
..search for lyrics to the song "Groovus Maximus" but I can´t find it some were on internet.
Could you mabe help me with it because I really need it!! Thanks! /Lukas
Hi Lucas, |
I afraid I don´t have the lyrics written out. However, my webmaster is working on a new layout for connybloom.com and we´re talking about putting up some lyrics too. If you´re playing the song with a band, please send me a copy.
Good luck, Conny

Hi Conny! Dig... |

...da Music, Love da add, Love da attitude and you seem like a nice guy too! When are you and Hanoi Rocks coming to Da Netherlands? And most of all : where ta get the poster?!!! Greetz, Di
Hi Di (Heidi?)! |
I don´t know when we´ll be coming your way right now. The sooner the better... Reg. poster, I´m not sure what you mean.. Jameson advert?
Try Jameson if that´s the case. Peace, C.
Hi, I was reminded... |
...of you and your music today, and thought it was time to tell you what I never did say before... You are such an electrifying guitar player with a wonderful ´electrified´ charisma, keep on going... ;) Tanja [Stockholm, I just prefer English language more ;)] T.C.C
Hi Tanja, |
Thanks for your kind words. // Conny
New year party was over.. |
..and I´m back to work. I hope you are doing fine! You mentioned in your Japanese website that Hanoi has a plan to release an new album this year ! That´s fabulous. Now I feel really happy because Hanoi is totally reborn and so active now. They hadn´t play for nearly 18 years as a band and that made me who has been a great Hanoi fan from their beginning. But they reborn in 2002 and you and AC joined last year and now Hanoi is really getting better! Now I almost forget that they didn´t play for a long long time. So thank you Conny, you made Hanoi more attractive. Please stay in the band forever!! I am looking forward to listen to new Hanoi cd!
Keep on rockin´ in 2006!! Shoko
Hi Shoko, |
Thanks for all you sweet words. I feel really good about playing with the guys and I will stay as long as it´s fun and as long as I´m treated as great as I am. I will still release my own stuff in the future though. Ai to heiwa, Conny
Hi,conny !! I watched.. |
..your old photo. I love your hair style of now !!
It´s the very coolest !!! May I ask you a question about your hairstyle? Are you using a pointwig to your hair?
//tomo
Hi Tomo, |
I´m not sure what "pointwig" means but if it´s some kind of wig or hair extension the answer is no. It my own curly hair that has dreaded up in a natural way. I´ve had my dreads for about 4 years, soon 5. I used a bit of salt water in the beginning to help it dread. All I do nowadays is wash it and sometimes I use a little bee wax cuz it smell nice. I use a scarf to get the hair out of my face. Love & respect, Conny
Lirar Niklas ... |
...i något band nuförtiden? Håller ni kontakten i Boysen? Återförening??? Electric Boys är fortfarande ett av mina no: 1 bandz.......
/Mattias
Hej! |

I´ll answer this in english so that everyone can understand. 1) I don´t think Niklas Sigevall is playing at all. He stopped many years ago. 2) I haven´t met Franco since ´95 I believe. 3) There´s no plans of an Electric Boys re-union at the moment. Ciao, C.

Hi girls! |
Glad you dug the show. I design my pants myself and have someone named Katarina Elvås make them for me. She´s been making clothes for me for a long time. Yep, got the flowers! Thank you!
´Til next time, Conny
Hello Conny! |
Would you tell something about Hanoi rocks future plans? Are you going to studio or tour :)? And any updates about dvd? regards, Woody
Hi Woody! |
Well, there´s lots of plans but we don´t like to spill the beans until we´re 100% sure about things. i can tell you however, that we´re working on new material and that we´ll be touring alot next year in Europe and possibly Japan and (hopefully) America. The Swedish tour was very succesful and we´re in a better position in many ways than before the tour. We´re collecting material for a DVD but nothing´s ready for release as we speak. Keep the faith, Conny
Thank you Conny for being.. |
..such a nice person! You really rocked in Sala and Gävle! I want to thank you for having a talk with me and my friends after the show in Sala! I still got your autograph on my stomage... I haven´t done a "fettsugning" yet! ;P And thank you for giving us food! I really love men who gives me food! "-Är magen glad är männskan glad!" Hi Mary, |
How´s it going in the mystery world? Pity the yearly X-mas bath is coming up, so you´re gonna have to wash the autograph off soon ;-) Don´t know when (and if) we´ll come to Uppsala.Glad you guys enjoyed. We had a great time. Be good, C.
Hi Conny! Just... |
... wondering, when are you and Hanoi touring the UK again??? Mike
Hi Mike, |
As soon as possible I hope. Sometime during spring I would guess. // C.
Hello Conny! I`m.. |
..16 years old boy from Savonlinna. I was in Tavastia 22 october and it was a GREAT gig! I`m not see Hanoi rocks before, but i have listened Hanoi Rocks about five years.. I have got every Hanoi albums and singles.. You are one of my favourite band.. Michael, Andy, Andy, Lacu and you ARE the PERFECt combination! You play guitar so fucking well and you look so rock`nroll star at the stage.. ;) I hope Hanoi will come to Savonlinna some day. There are lots of fans about Hanoi rocks. But maybe some day you will come.. i hope so very much.. // Mika Henttonen from Savonlinna
Hi Mika, |
Thanks for your mail.. I´m glad you like what you´ve seen/ heard! I don´t know much about Savonlinna, but if it´s not TO small, we´ll probably come there some day. //Conny
Ahhh.. |
..I´de do anything to see hanoi here in the US.
Someday... please hit the states when you go on tour. Cassie
Hi, |
I´m there the day I get a phone call saying "we´re going". Should be (HAS to be!) sometime next year. // C.
Hi! |
I was at Hanoi Rocks´ gig at Tavastia and your playing made an impression on me. How have you learned guitar playing and who players have had the biggest influence on you?
"a Finish guy"
Hi "finish guy".. |
Thank you. I started out with classical lessons for a few years, to get off on the right foot so to speak. That made me use all my fingers. Then I got my first electric guitar which I learnt to play by watching and listening to other players. I was always influenced by strat players like Jeff Beck (although he played Les Paul too), early Ritchie Blackmore stuff and Rory Gallagher. Jimi Hendrix is an obvious influence too although I never really sat down and tried to copy him like I did with the others. Apart from him, I´d say Django Reinhardt is the greatest guitarist who ever lived. Ciao! C.
Hi Conny! Please tell me.. |
...about effects you use: Rack gear ? Stomp boxes ? Thank You for information and keep good working going on ! Kara
Hi Kara! |
I don´t use any rack stuff. The effects on the floor is usually a Boss Chorus Ensemble for a pre-amp and vibrato, the blue Line 6 pedal (with the choruses and flöangers etc), a VOX wah-wah pedal, a booster that was built by a friend of mine and a fuzzbox. I´ve always used a Big Muff fuzz but have been fooling around lately with a fuzzface too. I use Marshall amps and cabs. // C.

hello, we are a.. |
..beginning band and we want to play "All Lips N´ Hips" at our first live show !!! which will be october 29th 2005 ""TomStock" Halloween party" in New Holstein WI. USA and we were kinda wondering if you could hook us up with some guitar and bass tab so we can practice up and pull this off... we think people will love it as much as we do !!! thanx, from the guys in "Allister Fiend"
Hi, |
I´m flattered that you wanna play one of my songs! Unfortunately I don´t have any tablatures for any of them. Just stick your ears to the speaker and you will be alright. It´s in standard tuning with the low E-string tuned to D.
Have fun and good luck with the band, Conny
Hi Conny! Is it true... |
... that you was voted one of swedens sexiest stars in some fashion magazine recently ? What magazine ? "Nyfiken"
Hi, |
Something like that, yeah... In Elle Magazine. // C.
Hi Conny! Please, give us an.. |
..update on the finnish tour with Hanoi! How´s it going? Having fun yet ? Micke
Hi Micke, |
Yes, we´re having a great time! The band is rocking and so are the fans. Things got a bit scary on the motorway this weekend though, when a moose family crossed the street, just in front of the bus. Luckily, we have a great driver and no one got hurt. The "Two steps from the moose" tour is rollin´ on.... Ragga-dish!!!!

Conny! Sitting here... |
...at work, at 16:44 on a Friday afternoon (this is no way to live), I´m listening to 7 O´Clock with Quireboys and I remembered our beering session in Stockholm long ago, and then me meeting you and Ginger at the gig in London, of course I thought that I should let my mind drift
off to your site, and what am I greeted with; You joining Hanoi-Fkking-Rocks. Awwwriiiiite! Congratulations, amigo! I clearly remember your admiration and respect for "those crazy Finns"
(I´m also guilty as charged!), and I can´t think of a better band for you to shack up with. I´m counting on you guys to bring the Rock n´ Roll back to the world. I haven´t bought a record since Jet´s Get Born. Music industry has turned to cheap plastic cr*p! And I´ve just figured out that I´ve missed the Scarboro´ thing too - unfair! But that means that I´ll get to see you play somewhere else some other time. Again, Conngratulations, and all rock n´ roll fans are counting on you!
Cheers,
/Jocke
PS: I managed to see AC/DC in Hammersmit Carling Apollo, music is the
same, but the gents have slowed down a bit!

PPPS: I also had a shit 2004 - what was wrong with that year..!?
Jocke! |
Whazzup whazzup? Haven´t heard from you since my ICQ broke down. Yes, I always liked Hanoi. They had songs that stood above other bands at the time and were better live too. Us bringing rock´n´roll to the world ?? Consider it done.
Sorry to hear about your shitty 2004, but hey! Life goes on. C-ya down the road man! Conny
Another Hostile guitars ? |
Hi Conny! How much do you play on the last Hanoi album ? I like it but I can´t hear any obvious Conny influences. Peace and out! Jonny
Hi Jonny! |
I don´t play much at all on AHT. I came to Helsinki 5 minutes to 12 so to speak, to hang. We ended up in the studio and I played along to the tracks for about an hour (the rest of the time we wuz laughin´ our asses of listening to "Big Daddy"). Andy & Mike liked what I did and kept some or most of it. I play the melody line on "You make the earth move" and little bits here & there, like some guitar licks on"Center of my universe". Next album will be the first album we do as a band with this line-up, and we´re writing as we speak. Peace, Conny
Hi! So, Hanoi.... |
.. Rocks. How do you reeeeeally feel about playing with that band ? I mean, you´ve done great stuff on your own and should continue I hope. There´s not much happening for Hanoi for the moment is there ? Keep rocking, S.G
Hi S.G. |
True, there isn´t many gigs booked for now. We could use a short break and think things over after the gigs this summer. Sometimes you need to do that, in order to stay focused and look over the situation. We´ve had problems with people involved with the band, bookings etc.. Standard record industry bullshit, pardon my french. As far as playing with the band, I have a GREAT time doing gigs with Andy, Michael, Lacu and AC. I haven´t recorded a proper album with Hanoi yet ( just did a few overdubs on AHT, 5 min to twelve) so let´s see what the future might bring. Of course, I won´t stop doing my own stuff!! A new album is in the works as a result of the Groovies Inc recordings. Don´t worry, be nappy... Bongoboy

I´ve got your... |
..."Been There, Done What? Live".. And now I´m enjoying listening to it! But I want to listen to your live solo songs someday! By the way, I´ve got another copy of the Japanese magazine I mentioned before. And I´d like to send it to you. Will it be with you if I send it c/o Deaf & Dumb Music in Stockholm? Love and Peace, Shoko
Hi Shoko, |
Glad you like the live album. I´d love to go to Japan for a few gigs, japan´s great! Maybe when my solo stuff gets a proper release there, I will come. Sometime next year "Psychonaut" should be released and maybe even the re-mastered Electric Boys stuff, through Universal.. Stay in touch for more news on that. Please Do send the mag to Larsa ( in my name). Ai to heiwa! Conny
Hey, nice to hear... |
...that you met Alice! He really is a true rock ´n
roll icon. Well, how about Andy. I have heard that he used to work with Alice in the 90`s. Did Alice and Andy met? Did Alice tell any funny stories about Andy? And did Andy really quit smoking and drinking? That`s really good news if itZs true.I have also heard that Alice and Michael are good friends. It would be great if Hanoi Rocks and Alice Cooper could tour together in US. Any new tour plans with Hanoi? ThatZs all.
Keep on rockin // Jim
Hi Jim! |
Andy and Alice was supposed to write together and Michael got up on stage in finland some years ago to sing "Under my wheels". We all enjoyed meeting Alice, he really was "Mr. Nice Guy" and so was the rest of the band. We´d love to tour with Alice in the states! Perfect bill, Alice and us. We´ll soon be touring Scandinavia and then probably europe again, now that the albums being released in more countries. Then ? Hopefully the states. Stay tuned we´ll keep you informed when we know more.. I haven´t checked McCoy´s drinks, been busy drinking my own. Always rockin´ & bongo-boppin´, Conny (ps. thanx for the picture!)
Hej Conny! Finally got.. |
...some of your albums! I got the three electric boys albums and boy have I been missing out!
Are the rest of your albums to be re-released since I have had trouble locating them thru cd-stores? Any tips were to look?I hope you get your change to participate in writing Hanois next album since youre quite the songwriter yourself!
And since you and a.c fit the band perfectly I can only imagine how things could even be better when you are performing songs that has youre major involment!
Any plans for solo stuff or other projects for example with ginger or andy mccoy?
I also found a re-released edition of sg5 with demo version of walk like a motherfucker? Are there other demos for the follow-up album?
Take care, enjoy life and keep on rockin´
Kenneth
Hi Kenneth! |
Glad you like the Electrc Boys stuff. A double Conny Bloom CD is in the works. One CD will be my solo debut "Psychonaut" and the other CD will consist of my projects over the years, from the "finnish years" with Roadrats & Rolene to Electric Boys and Titanic Truth plus other stuff. I´m writing for the next Hanoi Rocks album and it should be interesting. No Ginger project as we speak. Peace, C.
Hi Conny! How.. |
..are you doing? How was your gig in Goteborg? I hope it was succeeded. Recently I saw some pictures of your guitars on Japanese magazine. I was surprised to find most of the paint was peeled off on your white Stratocaster. How long have you been using it? And its body is for right handed but it has a neck for left handed. And the other black one for left handed has a neck for right handed. Did you exchange them for each other? Take care. Ai to heiwa! // Shoko
Hi Shoko! |
I got the white strat when I was 17, mint condition. Since then, all the sweat, wear & tear etc have made the colour come off. Yes, I did swop the necks! The left handed neck has bigger frets, so I put that on my main guitar (the white one) until I´ve had that re-fretted. I´ll put the necks back to where they used to be then. By the way, what magazine was that? Ai to heiwa, Conny
Hi Reggae rocker! |
Got a chance to sneak up behind you (was to shy to say hello!) in UK and saw how great your dreads really look. Any tip on how to get my hair to dread like yours ? Soon Dread
Hi, |
Stop combing it! Having curly and dry hair helps too. One love, C.
Thanx for your ... |
...answer before. It was good. It is a good thing if a few kids think before they end up in situations that often come with horrible consequenses attached. I´m glad that you share your experiences and thoughts with intent to prevent "mistakes". I actually don´t want to discuss social comittment or anything like that here, but I wanted you to know that I appreciated your answer. And I´m sure that you will rock on and drop some groovy own material if we wait long enough. I wish you the best for 2005 and for coming years too... / Ove
Hi! |
Thank you. Yes, there will be be some new material fairly soon. Keep checking back for info. Cool runnings, C.
Conny, I saw... |
..the Electric Boys live a few years ago as a support band to Thunder while touring in England. You certainly blew us all away. And from then I was hooked.Problem is now, I cannot find your solo albums on CD. Can you help?
ps.....Dont stop!!!
Hi! |
A new release is in the works! There will be a double CD for the price of one. 1st CD being "Psychonaut" and the 2nd containing songs from Electric Boys, Titanic Truth, my live album, SG5 as well as my early stuff with Roadrats and Rolene + some other projects. Check back for more news on that.. I guess it´ll be released at the end of the year. Peace! C.

RUISROCK GIG! |
Hi Reggae rocker! Saw you at Ruisrock and had a great time despite the not so great sound and whatever problems Mike seemed to have. You were truely amazing on stage and played great. You really seem to enjoy playing with Hanoi too, and that always reflects on the audience as well. Really fucking great, man! Keep rocking, Jimmy
Hi Jimmy! |
Well thanx! As big as the stage was, it felt totally comfortable from the first chord. I guess we´re that kind of band; the bigger the better. We tried a new soundman for that gig so that might answer the question about the sound..? Yes, I do enjoy playing in Hanoi Rocks. Sometimes we feel we can blow anybody off the face of the earth, on other nights everything might not go 100% our way, but at least there will always be something to talk about, which is the point. Technical shit aside, it´s about entertaining ourselves and the crowd. Peace, C.
Hi Conny! |
Congrats on your new gig with Hanoi! One question: Why aren´t you on the cover, if your playing with the band now, as a "fulltime" member? How much of the guitar´s on the album is you? Jussi
Hi Jussi! |
The answer is simple: I didn´t join the band until the very last minute and the cover was already done. In fact, Mike went through some hassle to put me and A.C on the inner sleeve. A nice move from him, since there really was no time to fuck around with the cover anymore. Later on, the cover was used on the Japanese tourbook and me and A.C was added to that picture. I´d say 5-10% of the playing is me. Just added a few little bits. Like I said, the album was pretty much ready to go when I joined. Ciao! C.

Touring Europe? |

Hi! When are you guys going out again? Emma
Hi, |

We´ll be doing a few festivals in July & August. We´ll be touring Scandinavia & Europe again later this year. C-ya! C.

How do you find it playing with... |
..Andy & Mike? Are they as rebellious as they come out in the papers? // Suomi rocks
Hi, |
Hello! |
Any more plans of Conny projects ahead? Sven
Hi Sven, |
Of course. I´ve just started writing again, we´ll see where it all ends up. Hanoi Rocks is my main priority right now, but of course there´ll be more of my own stuff later. Andy McCoy and I might do something too, something different from Hanoi. Keep checking back for updates! Peace, C.
Hi C! Is the.. |
..japanese crowd as polite and quiet as the rumour says? "Jyrki"
Hi Jyrki, |
WHAT!??!! The japanese crowd is fantastic! Dancing and singing and movin´ and groovin´! C.
I´m Shoko from Japan. |
I´ve been great fan of Hanoi Rocks more than twenty years. Now I´m very happy because new guitarist of Hanoi is you and you made Hanoi more attractive! I enjoyed your gigs in Japan last month. I found you and Andy McCoy often had eye contact with each other on the stage during you were playing guitar. I love the sound of guitar of you two. I love gig in small hall without seat---all standing. I´d like to ask you which you like to play better in big hall or small one. And did you have a good time in Japan? I really hope you know that all of the fans had happy time with you! I really appreciate. Hope to see you in Japan soon !! // Shoko xxxxxx
Hi Shoko! |
Arigato! Yes, we had a great time in Japan & playing with my reggae rocker brother makes positive vibrations. I like playing anywhere as long as the stage is big enough to move around. Gigs over 15.000 people gets a little out of sight but of course I don´t mind if so many people wanna come and see us :-) Ai to heiwa, Conny
Hi Conny! Have you got.. |
..any news on the Ginger situation that you can share with us? His recent statements and the silence surrounding him is, to say at least,
unnerving. Any plans of getting SG5 on the road/in the studio? Anyway, best of luck with Hanoi, but I hope we can hear from you and G in the future. SONIC SHAKE!
Hi! |
I´m in touch with Ginger. I´m sure he´ll keep everyone posted when he´s got something to tell.
Just because he hasn´t written in a while doesn´t necessarily mean he´s not well or isn´t working. In the meantime, stay cool & enjoy the spring! I´d love to do something with Ginger again when and if time permits. Peace,Conny
GodDamn Conny. |
Just read about your 2004...I worry about you now! I´ve said it before and I´ll say it again. I, for one, kind of need your great music. And therefore one could say that I, for one, need you.
So why the hell are you trying to kill yourself and why the hell are you spending your time doing other peoples business your own? I just don´t get it. Peace / Ove
Dear Ove, |
I´m not trying to kill myself as I´m sure you understand. However, if I can get a few kids to think about the eventual consequences of the rock-til-you-drop party hardy lifestyle, then I think that´s a good thing. I was a little unfortunate last year, that´s all. Pity you don´t like Hanoi Rocks I guess, but hey(!), life goes on. Peace & respect! C.
Hi Conny. Love your work.. |
..through the years, I was wondering about the songs "Neon Delta Blues" and "Walk Away Free". Can you tell me more about how these songs were written ? And it would be interesting to know on which songs you are playing on the new Hanoi record, which I by the way think is great. I was in Gothenburg last time at Sticky Fingers and watching Hanois show..it was brilliant.
My best wishes in the future, Jeppe
Hi Jeppe, |
Hm.. To be honest I can´t remember writing them. The only things was that "Neon Delta Blues" was inspired by some U2 song. Nothing anybody would ever recognise, but having the verse in B and then going up to the chorus in D was the big trick. On "Another Hostile Takeover", I came over to Helsinki to hang out and went to the studio.. I played along to some tracks. Andy & Michael later listened back and liked what they heard so they kept most of it. I know for sure I´m playing on "Earth move", "Back in your face", "Reggae rocker" & "Center of my universe"...Glad you liked the Hanoi Rocks gig! Peace, Conny
That Helsinki... |
...Stockmann gig was the first one I got to see the new Hanoi and man, you ruled! :) I swear this could be really a match made in rock´n´roll heaven ... keep this thing together, PLEASE!
You and AC are really the injection (no pun intented ;) that Hanoi needed. Now there´s not only great players but also great showmans...
all the best to you :) luv, alex
Hi Alex, |
It´s great when the vibe is good within the band, but it´s even greater when the fans like it too. Thanks! Peace, C.
Hey wassup? |
How´s things in...eh...well.. wherever you are at the moment.... Any news on some festivals yet or not? Hope HR will be playing some festivals near Holland...I´ll be there. Anywayzz have fun in Japan (don´t eat too much sushi) Love from Holland // Claudia
Hi Claudia, |
I´m ok (in sweden), thank you. Well there´s is gigs being booked as we go along. Check the www.hanoirocks.info for updates on gigs. I can stay away from Sushi but the Kim-Chi is gonna be harder ;-) C-ya, C.
Conny, you are... |
...so fucking cool - where did you get those glasses?!!! Congrat´s on the HANOI thing - ELECTRIC BOYS + HANOI ROCKS = FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! // STEVIE.
Hi Stevie, |
Hm...What glasses? I always loose ma glasses after a few drinks so I stick with cheap ones that you can get from petrol stations & markets. Thanks, C.
What´s the funniest thing.. |
..that happened to you on the tour? Jennifer
Weeell, |
There´s many good moments, but we all laughed at this one, when we got caught in the norweigan customs: I had my pants around my ankles when the custom officer looked at me (dreads, afghan fur and all) and asked if I smoke marijuana. I said "No, I´ve got asthma" at the same time as this heavy dub reggae tune started playing (my cell phone signal).. For some reason I think he found my answer hard to believe. Oh yes, it was Mrs. Bloom who called.. I told her to never call me when I´m stuck in the customs again :-)
Hey there dude! |
Regarding Groovies Inc: You said "it might just be the last band I put together".. What now? Hanoi Rocks?? //Curious
Hi, |
I haven´t put a new band together, I joined another one..
